Ward Posey, Chief of Operations, Aids to Navigation Waterways Section, LANTAREA, containing detailed descriptions of the Atlantic Area Command preparations for Hurricane Katrina including: management and maintenance of USCG aids to navigation resources and recovery of waterways and ports during post-katrina, efficiency of the Coast Guard's aids to navigation fleet, lack of funding to maintain an aging Coast guard fleet working with the aids to navigation teams, and moving forward on a modernization project for the overhaul and replacement of construction tenders and smaller Coast Guard cutters and aids to navigation vessels.
